Home Made Fresh Yogurt

I was asked by some friends to write yogurt recipe. It is easy to  prepare and is delicious. It has no gelatin or preservatives. Yogurt is a probiotic is good for gut. It is better to make yogurt from grass fed then conventional fed cows.  Grass fed milk has double the omega-3 fat content as to conventional milk . Yogurt made from low fat milk doesn’t have creaminess and consistency as whole milk yogurt. The starter can be from any whole milk plain yogurt. The sourness, in yogurt,  depends on how long you take, after it is ready,  to refrigerate.  I prefer to use glass or earthenware container to make yogurt. Instead of oven you can cover the container with thick warm cloth and leave it over night in a warm place.

Method:

After the milk starts boiling, boil one more minute
Cool the milk to 105F. it should be the temperature of  the shower water.
Add the starter in the bottom of the jar.
pour the milk over the starter.
Do not mix.
Put in the preheated oven for 3 hours.
let it cool in the oven.
Transfer into the refrigerator to make it firm.
